Why not try your hand in one of Masbro’s pottery, art and crafts classes? All classes are taught by experienced professionals.

We offer a variety of courses including life drawing, sculpture and pottery (both handbuilt and thrown) that cater to a mixture of abilities. So whatever your level of experience is, there is sure to be a class for you!

All classes are held in bespoke rooms, the Pottery Workshop is a large airy room equipped with clay, pottery wheels and kilns. The Art Studio is naturally lit and is fully equipped with easels and a life model podium. There is also a large exhibition space where your art can be displayed.

This course covers hand building techniques including; coiling, moulding and slabbing, various decorating techniques and glazing. Throwing may be taught later in the course. Those who wish to develop existing skills and work on individual projects are also welcome.

We use basic handbuilding and decorative techniques including coiling, slabbing and press moulding to produce functional vessels and sculptural forms. There will also be the opportunity to make one and two piece moulds in plaster of Paris for press moulding and casting.

SCULPTURE – LIFE STUDY GROUP

A class for students of mixed abilities

Work with figure and portrait models in additive media; clay, wax and plaster on wire armature.  Perfect in conjunction with life drawing study or just for those who want to  explore  sculpture.
