VOLUNTEERING & BEFRIENDING AT MASBRO

Would you like to make a difference to your community?

Join our team of volunteers carrying out a variety of roles. We have a range of opportunities on offer such as befriending an older person, helping out with activities and events or assisting with administrative and IT support.

Loneliness and social isolation are harmful to our health, research shows that a lack of social connections is as damaging to our health as smoking 15 cigarettes a day. Lonely individuals are more prone to depression than those who have a good social network – the government are now taking this problem seriously and have just appointed a new Minister for Loneliness - to try to help tackle this problem.

According to Age UK, two fifths of older people say that television is their main source of company.
