SENIOR EMPLOYMENT ADVISER

Job Title: Senior Employment Adviser
Responsible to: UPG Business Unit Manager Employment and Learning
Salary/Grade: £28,000 to £32,000 p/a (fixed term contract)
Hours: 36 hours

The Role:
You will provide Careers Advice and Guidance to users of our Employment Support Projects and ensure that they progress successfully into training, education or employment. You will be working primarily with BAME women but not exclusively and will use a range of methods including 1:1 interviews, outreach events, workshops and online support.

The Person:
With a successful track record of providing Careers Advice and Guidance, you will be able to demonstrate significant experience of working with the unemployed and the economically inactive, and to clearly evidence progression outcomes for individuals. We are looking for someone who will go the extra mile and use their initiative to drive our projects forward. If you hold a Level 4 qualification in Advice & Guidance or equivalent, we would be interested in your application.

CHILDREN’S CENTRE EARLY YEARS WORKER

ACCOUNTABLE TO: URBAN PARTNERSHIP GROUP MANAGEMENT BOARD

Masbro Children’s Centre is looking for an experienced and enthusiastic Early Years Worker (Level 2/3 in Children & Young People or equivalent) to be part of our busy team. The post holder will be asked to provide a direct service of a supportive and practical nature to children under 5 years and their families who live in the Masbro Children’s Centre reach area, focusing on promotion and preventative activities. 18 hours per week term time only with additional hours as required.

Pay £10.55 to £12 per hour dependent on qualifications and experience

UPG are hiring a Community Kitchen Coordinator

(Edward Woods Community Centre)

Location: Edward Woods Community Centre

Term of contract: Fixed Short-Term contract. (contract ends 30th April 2020)

Hours: 18 hours a week.

Renumeration: £15 per hour

Accountable to: Helen Rowe, Project Manager, Community Champions

Working closely with the Edward Woods Community Champions and volunteers, the Community Kitchen Coordinators’ main responsibility is managing the weekly preparation of high-quality tasty meals for its users. They will create a welcome, non-judgemental environment where users can come and eat, socialise and tap into other services and support.

Masbro Youth Club – Youth & Community Intern

Contract Period: Pilot 1-year fixed term (Sept 2019-Sept 2020)

Reports to Youth & Community Manager

UPG’s rapid expansion over the last 3-years continues to be exciting and challenging in equal measure. Our Youth & Community programme is following this trend and we are looking to hire a Youth Work Intern (18-20 years old) on a 1-year placement. We are offering this role via support from the Jack Petchey Foundation to support the Youth & Community programme at Masbro Youth Club here at Masbro Centre.  The role will include significant continued professional development throughout, with the aim of building capacity within our Youth & Community programme while upskilling a young person to help maintain local Youth & Community work for the long-term.
